Dr. Brandon Freeman has been a prominent figure in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery since he joined Kern Medical in 2009. Serving as the Chief of Plastic Surgery and Facial Trauma, Dr. Freeman has dedicated his career to advancing surgical techniques, improving patient care, and leading by example in reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. His role extends beyond Kern Medical, as he also oversees the Grossman Burn Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital, where he manages complex burn treatments and reconstruction procedures. His dual roles place him at the forefront of both emergency trauma care and highly specialized cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, making him a trusted resource for patients and colleagues alike.

Dr. Freeman’s comprehensive training has equipped him with the skills needed to perform intricate and transformative surgeries. After earning his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he went on to complete an internship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. His training was further refined through specialized residencies and fellowships at esteemed institutions around the world. These included Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York, where he focused on reconstructive techniques; Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan, known globally for its excellence in craniofacial surgery; and Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in South Australia, where he gained further expertise in microvascular and reconstructive surgery. Through these experiences, Dr. Freeman developed a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.
