Dr. Mehryar (Ray) Taban grew up in the Los Angeles area. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from UCLA and medical school at the University of California, Irvine, he moved to the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic for ophthalmology residency, where he was selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Taban then moved back to Los Angeles for a two-year oculofacial cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. He then pursued further fellowship training in cosmetic facial surgery under Dr. Ronald Strahan in Santa Monica, CA.

Dr. Mehryar (Ray) Taban is one of the few surgeons who is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (AAO or ABO) and American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and diplomat of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS). Dr. Taban specializes in eyelid and facial plastic (cosmetic and reconstructive) surgery. He uses the latest technology in surgery, including minimal incision techniques, to provide quicker recovery times and natural outcomes.

Dr. Taban has authored numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters. He has been invited to speak at many national and international meetings. He has also received numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious Alpha Omega Honor (AΩA), the 2009 American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Webster Paper Award, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award. He practices oculoplastic surgery in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara.

Dr. Taban is a course instructor at the annual UCLA Eyelid Aesthetic Rejuvenation Course, held every summer, where physicians/surgeons from around the country came to learn advanced oculoplastic techniques, including various eyelid and orbital plastic surgery techniques. The course includes both cadaver dissection portion and lecture/didactic day.

Going to Dr. Taban was the best thing I've ever done for myself. He's the best in the business so I knew I was in good hands. From the consult, prep, surgery and post-op, the experience was friendly and a breeze. I bruise easily and expected a slightly longer healing time but after two weeks bruising was completely gone and by week 4, my eyes finally reflect how I feel inside. Thank you, Doc!

Dr. Taban did an Outstanding job on my upper and lower lids .He is an Expert in his field and was about $10,000 dollars Cheaper than other Plastic Surgeons who are Not Experts in this Particular Field, l know because l shopped around for about a month before Choosing Dr Taban. My eyes are literally 100 time better then before my surgery. He and his staff are Totally professional, courteous and kind. Money well spent, l feel like a New Man and friends say l look 10 years younger and l need to brush my teeth ?

I was referred to Dr. Taban through my dermatologist who knew him from the medical school as the smartest, genius guy that even she gets her fillers done by him. I had fillers done by a very well known doctor that made my eyelid to droop and be extra puffy. I went to Dr. Taban for consultation and he was confident that my fillers need to be dissolved. I have been going to different great doctors as there are many of them around but none of them were confident enough to do what he did. By doing that he made my eyes to look so much better but at the same time my eyelid skin became loose due to fillers being dissolved and I decided to have him to do my eyelid surgery to fix the loose skin. OH MY GOD! He gave me my eyes back, he made me look younger, you could see the color of my eyes as well as a perfect eyelid. How could he be so amazing, confident and extra humble?! He made me feel comfortable to trust him with my eyes. look at all his before and after photos! they're amazing. This doctor regardless of how many great doctors are in Beverly Hills, knows his work and he's good at it. He's the guy who's not only will be doing my sister's and my mom's eyes but will be doing my forehead and other part of my face. He also did my under eyes fillers that looks great. I emailed Dr. Taban regarding multiple creases on my upper eyelids because of upper eye hollowness. He emailed me back explaining multiple procedures which could help me. I booked the appointment for consultation right away without any hesitation because to be honest there is no body more legit then Dr Taban when it comes to oculoplasty, he is the best. I decided to get upper eye fillers done. He made sure I completely understood what to expect during and after the procedure. He is so adept in performing the procedure that is truly amazing. My fillers were pain free, and I am truly happy with my result. I would recommend anybody who wants to get rid of sunken hollow upper eyelids to go to Dr Taban . In plastic surgery amazing results always require gifted hands and profound understanding of facial intricacies. Dr. Taban embodies these two qualities.

Dr. Taban is amazing!! I had one droopy eye that made me appear as though I had a stroke. I was planning to see a plastic surgeon for help, but needed to research surgeons first. Then, one day before a vacation my daughter convinced me to go with her to get filler under my eyes at a walk-in, low cost clinic. Unfortunately, I agreed and was left with lumps of filler all over under both eyes. I had a hard time seeing out of my left eye because they put so much filler under that eye that it pushed my lower lid Into my field of vision. I spoke with my dermatologist and she said “Don’t ever let anyone touch your eyes, but Dr. Taban!”. I immediately made an appointment, and had surgery to get all filler removed and the droopy eye corrected by Dr. Taban. The result was remarkable, and I feel better about my appearance than I have in many years! Dr. Taban is absolutely awesome!!! Now I tell people “Don’t let anyone ever touch your eyes but Dr.Taban!”

He was very cruel. I was depressed for quite a while after our virtual session. He was hurried. His desk had junk food trash on it. He looked at my face and gave me a disgusted look and said that nothing could help. I have since been to other surgeons and did not have this horrible experience. I think he advertises that he can fix uneven eyes, but truthfully he cannot. He is simply preying on desperate people and taking their money. He is a total scammer. I would not trust him to do any serious surgical treatment. I had originally found him on Instagram. His photos show great before and after of people who have more serious asymmetry than i. I think now they are all photo shopped and fake. If you are sensitive about your body, this is NOT the doctor to go to. Stay away.
