Dr. Newman earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after completing undergraduate studies at UCLA. He followed this with a comprehensive 6-year residency in general and plastic surgery at the Medical College of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University).

Dr. Newman then completed a highly sought-after fellowship under Dr. Scott Spear and Dr. Maurice Nahabedian, internationally acclaimed cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgeons at Georgetown University. The Georgetown fellowship included advanced training in complex breast surgery as well as cosmetic surgery of the breast and body.

As someone who has been considering a breast lift and/or implants for several years, I am thrilled to share my experience with Dr. Michael K. Newman. Searching for a surgeon with the right blend of expertise, warmth, and understanding was a long process for me. However, I can confidently tell you that Dr. Newman possesses all of these qualities and more. During the consultation process, Dr. Newman took the time to actively listen to my concerns and preferences, offering honest and thoughtful feedback every step of the way. I never felt rushed or pressured, and Dr. Newman made it a point to ensure I was fully informed throughout the process. His approach and thorough understanding of the surgery put me at ease before, during, and after the procedure. Not only did Dr. Newman impress me with his ability to listen to my needs, but also his patient coordinator, Caitlin, was a constant source of comfort. She was always available to answer any questions and address my concerns. One critical aspect I would like to highlight is Dr. Newman's qualification as a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon (vs. a Cosmetic Surgeon.) At the start of my search, I was not aware of how important this distinction was in ensuring the best possible results and safety! It was a priority for me to find a surgeon with a high level of experience and expertise in this field and Dr. Newman fit the bill perfectly. It's only been twelve days since my surgery, and my final results are yet to fully manifest. But, I must say that I'm incredibly happy with the outcome. Choosing Dr. Newman was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I can't recommend him enough to anyone considering breast augmentation surgery.

Dr. Newman and his staff are incredible. From the moment you enter his office you feel at home. I was hesitant (and a little scared) to get Botox, but he made the process so easy and comfortable. I get so many compliments because it looks so natural. No one knows exactly what I’ve done they just keep saying “do you even age?” Such an amazing feeling! Best decision I made walking into his office…I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my face.

Hi all potential breast reconstruction women - I am an 80 year old woman who has had a lifetime of implants due to breast cancer starting in 1984. That year was my first implants. The second set were replaced in 1991 and I never paid attention to them until one day I had to. I was a very difficult case because my implants were now over 30 years old and in very bad shape. I must have seen several surgeons till I found Dr. Newman. He did an amazing job for me, was very caring and has a very sweet demeanor and is easy to work with. Another good sign of his personality is how well he treats his staff. He is also very respectful. I didn't even mind driving down to Torrance to see him. (I live in WLA). He also has an office in Beverly Hills. I had to have 2 surgeries - one to remove the old implants and the other to add new implants. My recovery was very easy and very successful. I Highly recommend him for any breast issues you may have. You won't be sorry. Oh, and by the way, I usually never do reviews.

Beyond glad I chose Dr. Newman as my surgeon for my breast augmentation! Dr. Newman displayed the utmost professionalism and really took the time to understand me and my goals, and helped me find the perfect implants to accomplish those goals. I am a week and a half post op after having breast augmentation surgery with Dr. Newman. I can just say how glad I am that I chose him as my surgeon!! I had spent a really good amount of time and effort looking and researching who were the best surgeons available for this type of procedure. I took time to review the experience of each Dr. I researched and all I can say is that I came across many Dr's that self glorified their work and experience BUT when I got to read their patients reviews....many times very disappointing stories and sometimes horror stories! I wanted to find a Dr. I could trust with his work but also with my health and safety! I'm very glad I finally did!! While researching Dr. Newman I came across all the great testimonies by other patients of Dr. Newman I did not find one bad testimony about him and his education and his experience was all around great!! Dr. Newman went above and beyond with me to address some concerns I had and all I can say is that I am very grateful for that! It takes a good and caring Dr. to do that! Dr. Newman is also a very honest doctor and I value and appreciate that. He was very honest with me regarding realistic expectations and what was the best option for my case. At the end I am more than satisfied with my results and I would consider him a perfectionist at what he does! I want to thank him and his Staff for all the caring treatment I received from Dr. Newman, the anesthesiologist doctor and all the staff at the surgery center on the day of my operation. Him and his Staff were amazing! I also wanna thank everyone at his office, they were all amazing, Kim was so helpful throughout the way!
