Dr. Burke was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY area. After graduating from Canisius College (Buffalo, NY) with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology he went on to attend The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Following medical school, he completed residency in General Surgery at SUNY Buffalo (Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery.) Dr. Burke then completed a Fellowship in the surgical management of Head and Neck Cancer at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY (member of the American Head & Neck Society). After Head & Neck training, he then completed an additional residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Summa Health System in Akron, OH (Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery).

Dr. Burke and his family were excited to have the opportunity to move back to Buffalo when he initially took a position at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the Department of Head & Neck and Plastic Surgery. After one year at Roswell Park, Dr. Burke and several of his partners subsequently moved their practice to it’s current location at the Erie County Medical Center (Buffalo, NY), where they started the Department of Head & Neck and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Burke has academic appointments at the University at Buffalo’s Department of Surgery as well as the Department of Otolaryngology.
