Education

Since Dr. Tirgari was born into a family of plastic surgeons, he was exposed to the field of cosmetic surgery at a very early age. He graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine with an additional Research Fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Training

Following residency training and additional courses at both the University of Tennessee and Emory University Hospitals, Dr. Tirgari continued specific training for liposuction, in which he specializes. He has also studied tumescent liposuction directly under the original founder of the tumescent liposuction procedure, giving him special prowess and skill in the field. His skills have become renowned, and he has continued to follow his passion for bringing out the best in people by improving their body image.

During his Research Fellowship period at the Lombardi Cancer Center of Georgetown University, Dr. Tirgari had the opportunity to work closely with breast cancer patients. His experience with these patients opened his eyes to their emotional and psychological struggles along with the surgical procedures necessary to prevent the spread of their body-altering disease to their other organs. He realized the massive effect of body image and self-esteem, and it became his mission to help all patients who are affected by the agony of low self-esteem and body image issues.

Teaching & Associations

Dr. Tirgari has also contributed significantly to the academe by practicing as well as teaching at the University of Tennessee, Emory University and George Washington University. At present, he still teaches and renders informative seminars at various institutions.
