In 2014 SIH was pleased to announce that Kelli Webb, MD, came back to her roots to serve the people of our community. Her areas of focus include: cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, acute and chronic wounds, burn surgery, soft tissue trauma, cancer reconstruction and reconstructive surgery for weight-loss patients.
“I was so thankful that SIH provided me the opportunity to move home to be close to my family and bring new plastic surgery and cosmetic services to the community I love,” Dr. Webb says.
When a patient meets Dr. Webb for the first time, she sets them at ease with her welcoming, easy-going demeanor and by her professionalism. She takes her time to get to know each patient. They see her as a trusted confidante.
The beauty of plastic and reconstructive surgery is this allows me to restore a sense of normalcy to my patients’ lives to restore what cancer or trauma have taken away. I always tell my patients: If there’s something they are unhappy with and find themselves thinking about it every day, it’s time to get it taken care of.
Originally from a small town outside of McLeansboro, Dr. Webb went to medical school and completed a six-year integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at SIU.
Dr. Webb is interested in clinical research and has won many research awards, including the International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery research award in Vancouver, Canada. She has written 15 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. Dr. Webb has also presented at more than 40 regional, national and international meetings. She is passionate about teaching and serves as the Clinical Assistant Professor at SIU School of Medicine. She has received 14 teaching and mentorship awards throughout her career.
She loves to volunteer for Operation Smile, an international organization that treats children with cleft lip and palate deformities. She also serves on several committees for our SIH system and community.
