I recently underwent breast reduction surgery with Dr. John Bates, despite my concerns about his lack of board certification in plastic surgery, which the practice manager, Sterling Boyle, minimized. My insurance approved the removal of 350 grams from each breast, and during two consultations, I asked about the final size; he assured me I would achieve a D cup, my goal from an F cup, while maintaining some natural fullness due to anticipated weight loss from exercise. I chose to pay extra for axillary fat removal for better aesthetics. Unfortunately, the outcome was disappointing, with one breast at a B cup and the other at a C cup, and one areola appeared asymmetrical. I developed a scar with excessive connective tissue and a bulge of axillary fat on one side. When I expressed my concerns, Dr. Bates dismissed them, attributing the unevenness to my body and suggesting an additional procedure to reduce the larger C cup, contradicting my desire to keep some volume. This experience has significantly undermined my trust in his abilities, and his disregard for my preferences has left me unhappy with my appearance, leading me to seek corrective surgery from a board-certified reconstructive plastic surgeon, which will involve extra costs and recovery time. While the surgeon was friendly and had a good bedside manner, it is vital that he listens to your desires and expectations, ensuring clear communication throughout the process. Additionally, choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon is essential.

Mr.Bates is amazing everything went well. The staff was nice and helpful. Everything went quickly. I did my consultation and waited on my insurance to respond. Once the insurance respond they schedule me a surgery date. Mr. Bates asked questions to make sure that I was good and that I was comfortable. I would recommend this clinic to anyone that’s trying to get a breast reduction like me.
