Dr. Trovato graduated cum laude with his Bachelor’s degree from Duke University, before receiving his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

He completed his residency training in General Surgery at the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UMDNJ, and then completed a series of fellowships to further specialize his training, including in Hand and Microsurgery at the Buncke Clinic, with John Q. Owsley, M.D. in San Francisco, and in Craniofacial Surgery at UTSW Dallas. In addition to his extensive training and practice experience, Dr. Trovato has published articles and abstracts, in leading medical journals, presented his work at national conferences, and co-authored textbook chapters, all of which discuss his research findings and contributions to the field of plastic surgery. Dr. Trovato has received several awards for his research work, including 1st place at the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons Resident Research Symposium on two occasions. Dr. Trovato is fluent in English and Spanish.
