During his five years of residency in New York, Dr. Mascaró had the unique opportunity to train, observe and learn from many of the pioneers and leading surgeons practicing in New York City. As a result, he finished his formal training with more experience in cosmetic and reconstructive cases than the average plastic surgeon.

This privilege was complemented with extensive experience in advanced surgical management of complex facial injuries at the famous Kings County Hospital Level I Trauma Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Following his Head & Neck Surgery residency, Dr. Mascaró completed one of the most sought after fellowship programs in the country with Dr. Daniel Rousso, an international leader, scholar and expert in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The fellowship -- devoted exclusively to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck, as well as hair restoration -- is one of only 20 cosmetic fellowships in the country, and it is the ONLY dual fellowship offered, co-sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. 

During this fellowship, Dr. Mascaró mastered a wide range of surgical techniques and added further learning to his extensive experience in non-surgical rejuvenation of the face.  After years of practice, he was able to obtain the highly sought Board Certification in Facial Plastic Surgery, along with his Board Certification in Head and Neck Surgery. 

Dr. Mascaró is honored to be in practice with world-renowned Facial Plastic Surgeon and Lipografting pioneer Dr. Thomas Tzikas. Together, the two share similar treatment philosophies, focusing on natural results and the utmost attention to patient care and comfort.

Dr. Mascaró is currently actively involved in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery research, co-authoring several journal publications and book chapters, and is an active member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
