Dr. May’s extensive surgical training and experience at the nation’s top institutions with world-renowned surgeons sets him apart. He specializes in face and neck lifts, rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, brow lifts, blepharoplasty, fat grafting to the face, neurotoxins, dermal filler injectables, skin cancer reconstruction, and all aspects of the aging face.

Dr. May graduated from the University of Alabama with Summa Cum Laude honors. He then attended medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and graduated top in his class with the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honors Society and Magna Cum Laude honors. During medical school, Dr. May completed a research fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in Houston, TX, where he researched treatments and identification strategies for melanoma skin cancer. He then completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the nation’s top hospital according to U.S. News and Reports. During residency, he had extensive training with some of the world’s greatest surgeons, and he had the opportunity to treat many patients from all over the world.

Dr. May completed an accredited fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery under internationally renowned rhinoplasty expert and facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Dean Toriumi in Chicago, IL, and RUSH University Medical Center. He served as junior faculty at RUSH University Medical Center. During his fellowship training, he performed complex rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction surgery with Dr. Toriumi in São Paulo, Brazil, and taught an international rhinoplasty course in Miami, Florida.

Fellowship and residency training instilled the core principle and mission he adheres to today—the needs of the patient come first. Dr. May currently serves as a member on the oral boards committee for the AAFPRS and as a reviewer for Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine. He has published several book chapters and articles in varying fields of head and neck surgery. In addition, he has pioneered research in the utilization of 3D-printed models for head and neck cancer reconstruction.

He has also published several book chapters and articles on plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has served on several national committees through the American College of Surgeons and the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has presented his work at both international and national meetings.
