I recently had an excellent experience with Dr. Kirby and her team! I booked my consultation for a plastic surgery as soon as I retired and finally had time to seriously consider moving forward with a procedure I had put off for years. From the first appointment, I felt genuinely cared for and comfortable. Dr. Kirby spent a lengthy amount of time asking me questions, showing me pictures to ensure realistic expectations and expressed her confidence in the results she felt could be achieved by the procedure. Dr. Kirby had patience with me and my many questions. She listened with genuine compassion. I was absolutely confident after our time together about moving forward with the surgery! After our consultation, I met with the business manager to review the timeline, details and logistics. Due to an unforeseen event in my summer schedule, I had to move the surgery date. The team was empathetic and worked with me to find an optimal time this fall for the procedure. My preoperative appointment was long and informative. I met with Dr. Kirby again and her assistant. They reviewed a customized booklet written by Dr. Kirby for her patients. We went through it page by page discussing everything a patient could possibly be concerned about or need to know to be prepared for surgery and what to expect during the recovery period. The care and attention I received prior to surgery was amazing. I felt prepared and excited for my procedure I had put off for years! I received several calls prior to surgery from her staff to check on me and inquire if I had any last minute questions about pre op medications or the procedure. The day of surgery I arrived and was warmly greeted by the team. I met with the anesthesiologist who was thorough and compassionate explaining what was going to happen to me and the medications I would be given before and during the surgery. I very little memory of my time in the operating room. After the procedure, my husband took me home for my recovery and management of my post op medications with the detailed schedule. ICE, ICE and ICE is what I was told by others and I did:) Dr. Kirby instructed me on how frequently to ice and my recovery was remarkable. I had absolutely NO pain. None at all! I had no nausea from the anesthesia and no side effects. My swelling was minimal and I had very little bruising thanks to all the instructions given by Dr. Kirby and her team. My post operative appointment was wonderful. The team removed my stitches, answered my questions and gave me clear instructions to continue the successful healing process. My surgical result has been amazing. I look like my natural self, I feel confident and am thrilled I finally moved forward with the procedure! I had a wonderful experience at Kirby Plastic Surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Kirby and her team!
