Dr. Lauren Hutchinson is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon focusing on aesthetic surgery for the breast, body, and face with a special interest in “mommy makeovers.” She also offers nonsurgical facial rejuvenation options, including injectables, fillers, and laser therapy. She is excited to be part of the exceptional team at Piedmont Plastic Surgery & Dermatology. Her goal is to provide excellent patient care and deliver beautiful, natural results that are tailored to each patient’s goals and desires. Understanding patient needs and concerns through caring, compassion, and listening are hallmarks of her practice.

Originally from Southern Indiana, Dr. Hutchinson graduated from Indiana University with distinction and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the prestigious honor society. Following graduation, she pursued a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from the University of Louisville.

Dr. Hutchinson completed her medical school training at Indiana University in Indianapolis. While in med school, she volunteered at several free clinics treating underserved patients in Indianapolis, and her commitment to the community was recognized when she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Her academic achievements were also acknowledged when she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical school honor society

Following medical school, Dr. Hutchinson completed a 6-year plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois where she received extensive training in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Her comprehensive training included elective and traumatic hand surgery, cancer reconstruction, burn and wound care, as well as numerous cosmetic surgeries of the face, breast, and body. She was also awarded the Physician Recognition Award for Excellence in Patient Care during her residency.

Knowing that she wanted to specialize in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Hutchinson completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama which focused on cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body as well as noninvasive facial rejuvenation options. She was fortunate to train under one of the inventors of endoscopic surgery and is excited to offer endoscopic breast augmentation and brow lifts to her patients.

When not working, Dr. Hutchinson enjoys traveling, reading fictional novels, and baking. She loves spending time with her husband and infant son, and discovering all the things North Carolina has to offer!
