Dr. Rod grew up in Wisconsin and then ventured to Missouri to obtain his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Washington University in St. Louis. With a minor in German, he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996.

Dr. Rod then attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, graduating in 2001. Dr. Rod then completed his surgical residency at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency Program, where he trained for five years in general and vascular/trauma surgery.

Dr. Rod was then honored to be selected for a plastic surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. It was there that Dr. Rod received superior training in cutting-edge cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, graduating in 2008.

After graduating from the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Rod returned to Arizona in July 2008 to open his private practice in Phoenix. At the same time, he began as a clinical instructor in the Division of Plastic and Hand Surgery with the Maricopa Integrated Health System Surgical Residency Program.

Dr. Rod has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 2009. This certification meets the exacting standards of the coveted American Board of Medical Specialties founded in 1933. Not all people who perform aesthetic procedures can say this; on the contrary, many tout their participation in other similarly named  johnny-come-lately boards.

By virtue of his membership in the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rod enjoys membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons which has promoted strict ethical, procedural, and safety standards for plastic surgeons since 1931. Indeed, this society strongly counsels plastic surgeons to perform in an accredited surgical facility that has passed rigorous external review of equipment and staffing. Dr. Rod is proud to say that his onsite surgical facility is duly accredited.
