Sameer MassandDr

Dr. Sameer Massand is a Memorial Sloan Kettering fellowship trained plastic surgeon who specializes in cancer reconstruction, with a focus on surgery of the breast.

He studied English Literature at Lehigh University, from where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts after three years. Following that, he attended Drexel University College of Medicine where he served first as Class President and subsequently President of the Student Body. He completed Plastic Surgery Residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he gained extensive experience in managing acute trauma of the hand and face, in addition to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast and body, among other surgical disciplines. He was selected to be Chief Resident in his final year of residency. He then completed the prestigious Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, training with world-renowned surgeons in the field of cancer and breast reconstruction.

Dr. Massand has published many peer-reviewed journal articles as well as book chapters in topics ranging from pediatric craniofacial anomalies to cutaneous oncology to specialized free flap reconstructions. 

He believes in the progression of medicine, and analogously, the advancement of breast reconstruction with refinements in techniques and novel applications of surgery. Most importantly, he feels that every patient is unique and best suited with a tailored and individualized operation. His experience with head-to-toe surgery alongside many leaders in the field gives him a versatile and informed approach to breast reconstruction.

Outside of work Dr. Massand is a reader, tennis player, and frequent traveler, having visited over 50 countries across the world.
