Had cataract surgery on both eyes. Each appointment was a good experience with reasonable wait times, very friendly and helpful staff upstairs as well as in the surgical center. Very pleased with the results achieved by Dr. Chang. Very clean and impressive facility.

“Walmart of ophthalmology” Unparalleled awful service. I’ve been at the facility for approximately 10 minutes and I’m blown away by the experience I have had. First my grandmother’s cataracts surgery is scheduled at 6:30 in the morning. (Notice how the website says the place opens at 8) The info she was given says not to be early for her appointment. We get to the surgery center at 6:27 because traffic was good and I pull through the roundabout to let my grandmother out closer to the door as she has MS (making her very unsteady and uneasy walking and moving around) and we get to the door and it won’t open. Two other groups of people were waiting outside for their “6:30” appointments. So my grandmother is forced to wait outside the doors while we see the staff arriving at the location and going in a back door. I ask one of the nurses what time the door would be open and she turns to me and says condescendingly that the door opens at 6:30. Like I should know that the scheduling people scheduled my grandmothers surgery at the same time that all the people doing her surgery arrive on campus. That instead of being ready for her when she arrived she is forced to wait at the door while everyone gets to their desks and logs into their computer and makes sure they have all the supplies and things ready for the day. It honestly blows my mind. It seems like a little thing but if I made reservations at a restaurant I’d expect the restaurant to be open before they schedule me to be there. If I went to see a movie I’d expect the showtime to be the actual showtime not the time the workers show up to the movie theater to turn the lights on. It’s especially Important to be clear about expectations in the health profession where you’re dealing with people with various needs. These are human being not the sacks of cash that you casually schedule like they’re being shipped on a truck. This is my second bad experience here. If you can find a smaller doctor that can preform this surgery anywhere else do that. I’d never expect that the “Walmart of ophthalmology“ would be a thing but unlike Walmart at Graystone you not only get the trashy atmosphere but expensive prices too.

There was a long wait time, but the care was excellent. Dr Hargrove was patient with my questions, took the time needed (I did not feel rushed), was knowledgeable, and pleasant to deal with. It was a good experience.

See if your insurance accepts anyone else or bring your sleeping bag for the waiting room. The Receptionist was amazing though.
