I would advise against this practice: I first came to Dr. Cara Downey for a chin implant in June 2023. I had my surgery in August of 2023. After a few months when the swelling had started to go down, I had noticed that my chin was crooked, and I couldn’t smile correctly anymore. She had said that it must have fallen as it was just placed in there and sat on top of my chin. So, she would go back in and fix it, this time I would not be put under I would just be numbed. While I was getting my chin implant fixed, I could get my neck lift. She also thought I could use a bigger chin implant. I agreed. Fast forward to February 2024 I had the second surgery to fix the failed first chin implant surgery and the additional neck lift. I was happy with the chin implant however, the neck lift not so much. My neck does not look any different. It has fallen and burns at the back and front of my ears which she hasn’t seen before she said, apparently all the problems I’ve had with my chin and neck lift she’s never heard of. She said that I will need another surgery because first it was my muscle that was the problem then it was my skin. Also, that I would have to pay for this surgery. I was supposed to get a quote but never received it. At this point I wouldn’t go back to her and be put under a knife again by her. I have been seen by another clinic and learned that a chin implant does not simply just sit on the chin it should be sutured in and not have a chance to “fall” down and move around. Also, the neck lift was not done correctly, which is why you can’t tell that I had one. My advice to you is not to waste your money or time with Dr. Cara Downey. The new Clinic I went to had some of her prior staff working there and said she was very difficult to work for. I did notice while going in for over a year there is a high turnover with the office and other staff. I do not know if her husband the other surgeon at her practice is like this, he could be very good, but I can only speak for her as she is the only one that I had an experience with. I would like to say that the front desk and nursing staff is very kind and very friendly. I would give them 5 Stars, just not the surgeon.

Dr. Bullocks and his team did an amazing job on my breast reduction surgery. I went from a 30H to the perfect size for my petite frame. He listened to what I was looking for and delivered. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have plastic surgery.

I had an amazing experience at this clinic! I was thrilled to get three different services all in one place, making it so convenient. I scheduled a consultation for fine lines on my neck and a dermatology consultation. Taylor was super sweet and knowledgeable, recommending Sculptra, which I eagerly scheduled right away. Crystal was thorough and made me feel super comfortable during my dermatology consultation and procedure—way better than my usual dermatologist. The front desk was very accommodating and fit me in for a last-minute facial that was incredibly relaxing. The clinic is beautiful, and the staff is so welcoming. I’m beyond happy with my treatments and already notice a difference. I was so impressed that I’ve already scheduled a plastic surgery consultation here as well. Highly recommend—one of the best ambiances in Houston!

I've been a client at Studio Essex Med Spa for the past 3 years, receiving monthly facials, and my experience has been consistently wonderful. The spa, connected to a plastic surgeon’s office, offers a beautiful, calm, and peaceful environment. Appointments are always punctual, which I greatly appreciate. Taylor, the nurse injector, is exceptional. She has great attention to detail and skilled in delivering natural results. I also look forward to my monthly facials with Melissa, who is, without a doubt, the best aesthetician I’ve encountered in nearly a decade of investing in various treatments like facials, microneedling, and peels. As a cosmetic dentist, I understand the importance of proper training, and it’s clear that both Taylor and Melissa are highly qualified and have invested in their professional development. However, my recent experience has been slightly tarnished by the addition of a new, less qualified service provider. I was disappointed when an appointment with Melissa was almost switched to this new provider, who is a licensed massage therapist and “skin specialist”—a title rather than a licensed position. While I haven’t personally received treatments from her, her hiring has reduced Melissa’s availability, which is frustrating. I still recommend Studio Essex Med Spa, but I advise booking your appointments carefully to ensure you receive the high-quality care you expect.

My favorite med spa in Houston! I have been to several in the city and Studio Essex is now the only one I’ll go to. I have not found better pricing or monthly/yearly specials at this high of quality. All of the staff is so welcoming and they make each process so seamless and stress free. I see Taylor for all of my med spa needs and I couldn’t be happier with my results! She’s made each process painless, whether it’s injections or microneedling and truly cares about each client. I can’t recommend enough!!
