James J. Chao, MD, FACS is a board certified plastic surgeon and the CEO of Prime Plastic Surgery, Prime Med Spa and Oasis MD Lifestyle Healthcare. Dr. Chao is a fellowship trained hand and microvascular surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the hand and upper extremity, aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contour surgery, and the development of new technologies in the field of plastic surgery.
Dr. Chao has been the recipient of numerous prestigious state and national research awards. In addition, he holds multiple patents of novel devices for plastic and hand surgery. The ultimate goal of Dr. Chao’s research efforts is to pioneer new state of the art technologies for plastic surgery patients that are not available anywhere else.

Sep 7, 2023I’ve had the most Wonderful experience with Prime Plastic Surgery! I am a former patient of Dr. Pousti of 12 years ago so when I found out he had retired I was nervous to find a new plastic surgeon. I was pleasantly surprised to find out a good amount of the Body By Pousti team had stayed on staff with Prime Plastic Surgery so I knew I would be in Great hands! Dr. Chao is Amazing! I was completely confident in his skill and vision for my Breast Reconstruction. Every visit with Prime has been so pleasant! Every single staff member is truly such a joy to be around. I am beyond happy for my final results and would recommend anyone to Prime for their plastic surgery needs and more!

As a patient suffering from breast fibrosis and pain, I was really hesitant to operate and find the right physician to take care of my health,. My experience with Dr. Pousti was stellar from the moment I walked in to my post surgery treatment. The ladies at the front desk are happy and attentive, they always welcome you with a beautiful smile. Dr. Pousti is very friendly and caring. He is AMAZING and has the best bedside manners. I had fibrosis on my left breast from a surgery that went wrong outside of the US. Dr. Pousti did an incredible job fixing my breast and making it look just like my right, which was done by a different doctor - this is extremely hard. He is super talented and I highly recommend his services! You will not be disappointed.

May 9, 2018I cannot express how amazing Dr. Pousti and his staff are! When you are thinking about life changing surgery, think about the before, during, and after. They changed my life in so many ways! In order to get the surgery, I had to quit smoking so I could heal properly. I feel healthier, skins better, eyes brighter and now I have gorgeous breasts!! Dr Pousti and his staff made me part of their family and for that I am forever thankful. I want you all to know he is more than a Dr, he is an artist. I will never go to another! I had my surgery on a Friday..... walking around no problems right after...... at work Monday..... no pain meds after Wednesday....daily calls of encouragement( on weekends too!), but most of all, they made me feel beautiful inside and out before I had the surgery. You guys are the absolute best!!!
