As a believer that there is a common thread running through all matters in the grand scheme of things, Dr. Duong spreads his interests across multiple disciplines, having graduated with a bachelor of science in engineering, a master in business administration, and a doctorate in medicine. After medical school, Dr. Duong completed a general surgery residency at Shands Jacksonville in Florida and a plastic surgery residency at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. Dr. Duong also completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia and an apprenticeship with the late renowned aesthetic plastic surgeon Dr. Bernard Kaye.

After these residencies and fellowships, Dr. Duong continues to see the interconnectedness of all aspects of plastic surgery in his private practice, which spans 20 years and four locations. His first stop was Tupelo, Mississippi, where he furthered his experience in trauma reconstruction. His second stop was Cape Coral/Fort Myers, Florida, where his practice concentrated on hand surgery. His third stop was the Fort Lauderdale area, where he honed his skills in a high-volume cosmetic practice. And finally, we are lucky to have him here in the Northwest Florida area, where he and his family want to settle for good. Above and beyond his training and experience, Dr. Duong is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery/Hand Surgery.

In addition to the sciences, Dr. Duong also has an eye for arts, where he recognizes the details that accentuate beauty. His artwork includes paintings and sculptures that have graced the covers of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and the two books he has written, The Naked Humanity and On The Mangrove Shoreline.

Dr. Duong was the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2009 and 2010.

Dr. Duong is married to Elvy, and together they have a son, Nathan. The family loves the beach, tennis, and jogging.
