Dr. Claiborne has repeatedly earned prominent awards and recognition for his work as a plastic surgeon. His many honors include the Castle Connolly Top Doctors Award and being featured as a Top Doctor in both Louisiana Life Magazine and New Orleans Magazine which recognize the best plastic surgeons in New Orleans, Mandeville and Louisiana.
His immense knowledge of surgical procedures has led to frequent requests for his appearance at industry events. Dr. Claiborne has been a featured speaker at regional, national, and international plastic surgeon meetings. He has published over a dozen manuscripts in journals and textbooks to share his approach to optimizing procedures and patient outcomes.
Expertise
Dr. Claiborne completed a six-year residency focused on plastic surgery and then spent an additional year of aesthetic fellowship training to further hone his mastery of cosmetic surgery. In addition to his board-certification, he is considered an expert in breast surgery, body contouring, mommy makeovers and body transformations after massive weight loss. He was the first plastic surgeon in the country to complete a fellowship in SAFELipo liposuction and its applications to advanced mommy makeover techniques. He is passionate about optimizing the shape and silhouette for each patient's unique goals and body framework. Dr. Claiborne is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Residency & Fellowship
Dr. Claiborne’s already impressive achievements earned him admission into Wake Forest University’s world-renowned plastic surgery residency program. He set himself apart from his highly qualified colleagues by publishing and presenting more than 30 plastic surgery research projects. His cutting-edge surgery work earned him the Nicholas Georgiade Award for the best resident research project.
Post-residency, Dr. Claiborne earned a highly coveted Wall Center for Plastic Surgery Aesthetic Fellowship. He was chosen from a global pool of candidates to receive this fellowship, which is one of a select few that is officially endorsed by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. His admittance allowed him to study under one of the world’s top breast and body contouring experts. Under the tutelage of a surgical master, Dr. Claiborne honed his breast surgery and body contouring skill by performing thousands of patient procedures.
