Profile

Mark Elliott, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience. Certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American College of Phlebology, Dr. Elliott serves the community of Meridian, Mississippi, at both the skin care clinic and the surgery center of Meridian Plastic Surgery.

Growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Elliott was born when his father was completing his general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and his mother was finishing medical school. While a star athlete in high school, Dr. Elliott decided not to pursue a college basketball career and instead graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dr. Elliott has always been passionate about education, so his acceptance to Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana, with an honors scholarship, is not surprising. Not only did he receive the prestigious anatomy award and the pathology award, but he was also one of just a handful of students selected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. Additionally, he served as the honor society president during his senior year of college.

At his medical school graduation, Dr. Elliott received the Isadore Dyar medal for finishing as the top graduate in his class. He also received the Oscar Creech Award as the top student in surgery.

Dr. Elliott decided to pursue a career in plastic surgery after scoring in the top 1% of applicants on his board certification exam following his five-year residency. He then entered the most renowned plastic surgery training program in the United States at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Super accommodating. Took me on in without appointment because I had question concerning spot on eyelid. Dr Thornton and nurse handled it and were very concerned and pleasant to me. I thank them so much.

I've had several surgeries here. This review shouldn't reflect upon the providers here. Thanks to the incompetency of their billing department, I no longer feel comfortable going here. My last appointment I was very embarrassed in front of a lobby full of people, by the office who demanded a copay, even though I explained that I shouldn't have a copay & asked them to check closer. They didn't, instead adamantly insisting I pay or my appointment would be cancelled. I wasn't expecting that & at first didn't think I had all the money on me, further adding to my embarrassment. I had a distinct feeling like being mugged. Luckily, digging deep, I was able to pay. Days later I had to spend hours talking with my insurance before they called billing to explain that I should NOT have a co-pay. Billing told them I'd receive a refund, but I never did, nor did they ever return my multiple voicemails. On a separate occasion, 18 months after surgery, they began repeatedly sending me a bill for $30,000! As it turned out, billing failed to submit claim for payment to my insurance as required within the initial 120 days from service. NOT MY FAULT and they knew it! But instead of owning their mistake, they RUDELY alleged I'd previously signed some sort of agreement binding me to personally accept full responsibility. NO WAY!! Again, hours & days on the phone to my insurance having to clear up THEIR mistake! 😑

These people are racist. They don't have a person of color working in the whole building. Went to have a procedure done and they just butchered me up, save...
