Stephen Eric Metzinger, M.D., M.S.P.H., F.A.C.S. is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Having a profound interest in plastic surgery, Dr. Metzinger chose his training to emphasize this area.
He obtained his undergraduate degree at Tulane University, and received a Master's of Science in Public Health from the Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. He then completed four years of study at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, New Orleans. He received multiple honors and was elected to national honor societies, Delta Omega and Alpha Omega Alpha. He then served a two year residency in general surgery at the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Soon after, he pursued training in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. He then obtained highly specialized fellowship training in Facial Aesthetic Surgery at the prestigious and world-renowned McCollough Aesthetic Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
