Dr. Joseph Selem is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is one of a handful of skilled surgeons in the country trained in his unique specialty. Dr. Selem graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University in Atlanta and then attended Ponce School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. After finishing his medical education, Dr. Selem completed his internship at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia and a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas-Houston located in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world and home to one of the busiest trauma centers in the nation. Following his training in Houston, Dr. Selem received specialty training in eyelid and facial plastic surgery, as well as body liposuction, at The Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery in Florida under the preceptorship of Dr. Roger Bassin, M.D., a pioneer in body liposuction and an eyelid and facial plastic surgery specialist.

Dr. Selem is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery. Dr. Selem limits his practice to ophthalmology, eyelid and facial plastic surgery, and body liposuction. Dr. Selem has been trained to use many of the "invisible incision" techniques that are the future of aesthetic facial plastic surgery.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Selem and The Selem Center were evaluated by peers to guarantee that Dr. Selem and his practice offered the highest level of care possible. Dr. Selem was approved as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons because of his expertise as a plastic surgeon and his high standards for patient care and results.
