Dr. Perez-Gurri comes from four generations of physicians, dating back to 1868. Medicine has always been a part of his life. He was mesmerized by his father’s work and enjoyed going into the operating room with him as a child. Early in his career, he immersed himself in medicine and soon discovered an inclination towards surgery.

As he entered medical school, goal-setting became a must. During those formative medical school years, he came across a lecture by renowned surgeon Dr. D. Ralph Millard, who significantly impacted his life. Fast forward a few years, and after finishing a full general surgery training, he entered a plastic surgery residency under the tutelage of Dr. Millard and never looked back.

Dr. Perez-Gurri’s success could have easily been foretold upon graduating cum laude from the University of Miami and in the upper one-third of his class at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
