Profile
When Paula Amelia Moynahan articulated her intention to become a doctor at an early age, less than 10% of medical practitioners in the United States were women. Doctor Moynahan cannot recall a time, while raised in an Irish-Italian home in Waterbury, Connecticut, full of old-fashioned values, that she ever considered another profession. Honor, respect, compassion, duty, and responsibility became the foundation for the child to build a bright future as a pioneer plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
Doctor Moynahan attended Notre Dame Academy and Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, CT. Subsequently, she graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where she majored in chemistry with a minor in biology. Entrance into The Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania ensued. Upon earning her degree as a Doctor of Medicine, there were seven intensive years of post-graduate education and training at the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Certification by the ABS, ABPS followed.
Doctor Moynahan has committed to the specialization of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Middlebury Connecticut. By enhancing the appearance of the face and improving the body’s look, there is a profound and positive effect on the mind. Self-esteem is enhanced, confidence builds, and improved quality of life results.
