Dr. Timothy Schaefer has had a long, unique academic career on his way to becoming a plastic surgeon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University. He completed his medical school education at prestigious Emory Medical School in Atlanta, GA, where he graduated in the top 5 of his class. He also became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, one of the most renowned professional medical societies in the country. After deciding to join the field of plastic surgery, he completed his general surgery training and his plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Emory University.

In 2007, he joined Midwest Plastic Surgery, focusing his career on all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring, as well as eyelid and facial cosmetic surgery. He is a plastic surgeon that is skilled in the surgical treatment of skin cancers, grafting techniques for reconstructive and cosmetic applications, and general trunk and lower extremity reconstructive surgeries.
