Dr. Matthew Bartow is a Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon practicing in the Garden District of New Orleans. He has been in private practice since 2023.

Education & Training

Dr. Bartow received his medical training in New Orleans first attending Tulane University for a Masters Degree. He then attended medical school at LSU New Orleans. He then went on to gain a competitive spot in Plastic Surgery Residency at LSU New Orleans as well. After the completion of his residency Dr. Bartow wanted to further hone his surgical skills in the realm of aesthetic surgery so he could provide the best results to his patients. Dr. Bartow earned a fellowship spot in a highly coveted Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship in Birmingham Alabama which was fully endorsed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Upon his completion of this residency Dr. Bartow entered private practice for one year before deciding to move back to practice in New Orleans.

Due to his further extensive Fellowship training Dr. Bartow was fully imbued and exposed to advanced techniques in aesthetic surgery such as: endoscopic breast augmentation, deep plane facelift, endoscopic brow lift, and many other procedures.

Where other artists express their creativity through paint, or a musical instrument, or clay – a plastic surgeon’s medium is the most revered: the patient. What Dr. Bartow loves about the art of plastic surgery is the human component. Unlike other artists where the direction and vision is solely at the discretion of the artist, for Dr. Bartow the direction and vision is led by the patient. The ultimate goal of plastic surgery is for the patient to be happy with the art that is created – it is their body and their happiness with their body is the ultimate goal. Dr. Bartow fully appreciates the collaborative personal experience in discovering what the patient wants and what will make them more fulfilled with who they are.
