Christian D. Jacob, M.D., FACS was born and raised in the New Orleans area. After graduating from Jesuit High School, he received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Tulane University. Following a five year residency in the Tulane Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, he completed a coveted fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Calvin Johnson.

Dr. Jacob has been at Hedgewood since 2014. Not only did he complete the standard one-year fellowship with Dr. Johnson, but he also had the distinct opportunity of continuing to operate and see patients with Dr. Johnson for an additional two years. No physician has spent nearly as much time operating so closely with Dr. Johnson as Dr. Jacob. After this extended and truly unique training, Dr. Johnson, a world-renowned master in the field of rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation, recognized Dr. Jacob’s skill and bed-side manner and asked him to continue his practice at Hedgewood.

Dr. Jacob is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Additionally, he has achieved the status of Fellow of both the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He has given multiple talks about rhinoplasty and neck rejuvenation to his peers at renowned national and international conferences.

Through New Orleans Medical Mission Services, Dr. Jacob has participated in multiple medical missions to Central America where he treated impoverished patients who were disfigured from birth anomalies or traumatic injuries. He remains active in the education of local residents and fellows interested in facial plastic surgery. His interests include guitar, gardening, life drawing, and oil painting. Dr. Jacob studies art and furthers his artistic skills at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts and is proud to display select works by his teachers throughout the Hedgewood clinic space.
