Alexes Hazen MD, FACS is a New York City based aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. She specializes in breast surgery, facial reconstruction, face transplant, transgender surgery, and aesthetic surgery including fat grafting and non-invasive techniques. Along with running her new private practice in the Upper East Side, Dr. Hazen is an Associate Professor at the Hansjorg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center.  From 2002 to 2018 Dr. Hazen was the Director of the NYU Aesthetic Surgery Center, a position she let go of in order to create her own practice. Dr. Hazen has been an educator and practicing surgeon for almost 20 years and has received numerous awards for both her teaching and her work as a plastic surgeon. Dr. Hazen practices what she preaches - she not only performs a variety of cutting edge procedures but she is often at the helm of conducting studies and writing published papers on the very procedures she performs. She has co-authored over 60 publications many of which have won awards as well. Dr. Hazen is a very sought-after surgeon not only for her natural aesthetic and expertise but also because she provides a more holistic approach to longevity, health, and beauty. She believes that beauty and attractiveness are not just an external shell. It’s been less than a month since I have my top surgery / breast reduction with Dr. Hazen and every day I’m blown away with what she has helped my body to become. For context, I went from about a G cup to a C cup. I am already feeling relief from my chronic back pain and am wildly more affirmed in my gender. From the beginning of reaching out, I was greeted with kindness and speed from her amazing staff (Barbara and Jill) who greeted me every time I stepped into the office. Upon meeting Dr. Hazen there was no question about choosing her to be my surgeon. She is so deeply compassionate and kind and talented. As a queer non-binary femme finding a doctor who met me where I’m at in terms of expectations, as well as meeting me where I was at in my gender affirmation needs felt like a lofty dream but Dr. Hazen was more than welcoming and accommodating. She has been available to address any questions and concerns during my recovery process and I have not felt left behind at the least. She has gone above and beyond to make me feel safe and cared for in this transformative process. I can’t recommend her highly enough

I can’t recommend Dr.Hazen enough, beyond her medical and surgical talents, Dr. Hazen and her whole team are kind, loving and supportive. I knew I was in good hands ever since my very first consultation, in fact the day after I met her I cancelled all my other consultations and promptly booked my surgery with her. Dr. Hazen will be my doc for life.

I had double incision top surgery with Dr. Hazen in January of 2019. Dr. Hazen and her staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They were very helpful with the insurance process and answered any questions I had within 24 hours. I have recommended Dr. Hazen to many people and I would not hesitate to continue recommending her. I am extremely satisfied with my results and I am very happy I chose her as my surgeon.

If only there were a way to give more than five stars because Dr. Hazen and her staff, Jill and Barbara, deserve more stars than I can count. Choosing Dr. Hazen to perform my surgery was one of the best decisions I have made. I am incredibly happy with my results, and that has been life-changing. But it's more than Dr. Hazen's skill set that makes her a fantastic surgeon; Dr. Hazen also has a warm personality that makes the process easier. Dr. Hazen is easy to communicate with and I felt listened to, respected, and most importantly safe.

Dr. Hazen and her staff provide the best experience in their care with you. From quick callbacks and email responses when planning your surgery to the day of surgery itself, everyone in her office and Dr. Hazen herself offers warm, friendly, down to earth and responsive care and attention.
