Dr. Francesco Gargano is one of the few plastic surgeons in the world ever to be certified in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). In addition, Dr. Gargano has been certified in the sub-specialty of Hand Surgery by ABPS. Having trained extensively around the world in the highest accredited institutions from the top international surgeons, Dr. Gargano has learned from the very best.

Special honors include membership in the most exclusive plastic and hand surgery societies in the world including the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), International Society of Craniofacial Surgeons (ISCFS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS), Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS), among others. He has conceived and presented numerous papers and innovative techniques to the medical community globally over the past three decades including his acclaimed ‘Yin-Yang’ breast technique. This elite ranking and numerous international certifications put him in a class by himself.

Dr. Gargano received his medical degree from the University of La Sapienza in Rome, Italy, graduating magna cum laude. He went on to complete his European residency training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and earn his PhD in Plastic Surgery, Human Anatomy and Dermatology at the University of La Sapienza. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Gargano moved to New York City to participate in a fellowship at New York University in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department, learning from and training with the top US surgeons in the world. He was then awarded an Associate Professorship in Modena, Italy at the University of Modena Hospital in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department followed by another year living in London while working across the entire United Kingdom including England, Scotland and Ireland, performing a wide variety of cosmetic surgeries.

Dr. Gargano then moved back to the United States permanently to perform a coveted craniofacial fellowship at Miami Children’s Hospital in Florida specializing in children with cleft and craniofacial malformations. Completing his US medical training, Dr. Gargano was accepted at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island for his US residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Upon graduation, Dr. Gargano moved to New York City where he is currently based, servicing patients in Plastic & Reconstruction and Hand Surgery across the Tri-State area. Dr. Gargano is affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and is the director of the Craniofacial Center at Jersey Shore University Medical Hospital in Neptune City, New Jersey.
