Dr. Spero Theodorou received his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at RUSH St. Luke’s Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his training in New York, at NYU’s prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH) on an aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship program affiliated with New York University (NYU). The prestigious MEETH Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship specializes in training plastic surgeons in the art of aesthetic plastic surgery. It has the distinction of being the oldest aesthetic surgery training program in the country and is internationally recognized in the field of cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Theodorou is skilled and experienced in performing laser lipo and other body sculpting procedures that help to achieve the look and feel patients desire. He is at present a teaching faculty at the prestigious ASAPS (American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), where he trains plastic surgeons on the latest advancements in body contouring surgery such as Smartlipo and Smartlipo MPX, Triplex, and other cutting edge advancements in plastic surgery.

Dr. Theodorou is the founder and Surgical Director of Park Avenue Smart Lipo – which is an AAAASF-accredited plastic surgery practice in Manhattan, New York City (NYC). In addition to authoring numerous publications on aesthetic plastic surgery, he is the section editor for Liposuction for the prestigious Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal. He has been selected by Thieme Publishing, Inc to write the first authoritative plastic surgery text book on body contouring and technology – “Emerging Technologies in Body Contouring.” Along with Dr. Christopher Chia, he co-authored “1,000 Consecutive Cases of Laser-Assisted Liposuction and Suction-Assisted Lipectomy Managed with Local Anesthesia” (which is the largest published series of cases in peer reviewed journals analyzing safety and efficacy)that was published in the journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Due to his expertise in all areas of aesthetic plastic surgery, Dr. Theodorou is constantly invited to speak and give presentations in the U.S. and internationally. He has also been featured on Good Morning America (A.B.C) and on CNN Digital Biz.
