Female plastic surgeon Dr. Lavinia Chong is a Newport Beach local and second-generation plastic surgeon. She is a graduate of Corona del Mar High School and the University of California, Irvine (UCI) having earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and French. She was elected a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2000 and maintaining her dedication to excellence, earned recertification in 2010 and 2020. As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she keeps current with broader issues pertinent to Surgery.

Dr. Chong’s facility with languages reflects her profound interest in people. She loves traveling and frequently visits family in Europe and Asia. She lived and trained briefly in Mexico before transferring to Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, where she was awarded a Medical Degree (M.D.) in 1988. Dr. Chong’s post graduate training began with a 5-year General Surgery residency at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). After this, she completed a full 3-year residency at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Plastic Surgery (UTMB), acquiring a solid skill set for her future practice.

Dr. Chong has recruited and trained a staff, who patients frequently compliment as being “AAA” (able, affable, and available). We emphasize communication as a method to understanding a patient’s goals, formulating plans to support their aesthetic objectives, while managing risks and costs. A bespoke practice, we are delighted to greet new patients, while also welcoming those who have entrusted their wellbeing since early days. Through her active membership in the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons (OCSPS), the California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), Dr. Chong keeps current with Evidence-Based “Best Practices”, continuous education, and regulatory issues.
