Profile

Dr. Thomas D. Toohey earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology from the University of California, Irvine in 1984. He then continued his education and earned a degree in medicine in 1989. He also completed a degree in surgery in 1994 and a degree in plastic surgery in 1996.

Dr. Toohey is now a very seasoned plastic and cosmetic surgeon who offers his services to residents of Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. He has earned his certification through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He also has specialty training in many areas including body sculpting, breast reconstruction and laser surgery.

Dr. Toohey has several affiliations including the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the Irvine Medical Center and the Newport Beach Surgery Center. He is also a member of the Hoag Memorial Hospital for Plastic Surgery.

This review is so overdue. Dr. Toohey is one of the most amazing surgeons I have ever seen. I am so grateful for him and what he has done for me. I met Dr Toohey in 2002 when I had breast implants done. I was sent to him through a service that makes sure you get a good surgeon. I have never been unhappy with any surgery that I have had with Dr Toohey. He is a skilled and compassionate surgeon, person and artist. What's not to love?!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Toohey’s now for over 22 years! I have referred my family and friends to him as there is Not another doctor that I would ever trust to put there hands on them other than Dr. Toohey! He is straight forward and to the point. He will Not tell you that you need something done when you don’t and that to me makes him an honest, caring and Amazing doctor which is soo hard to find!!! Soo when you call the office to schedule your appointment, you will speak to Liz who is both beautiful inside and out and goes out of her way to assist you in any way she can. They are a Great team!

It’s been years since I had my surgery with Dr. Toohey and just called to schedule a consultation for my mother in law and it reminded me of how greatful and happy I was with the work he did on me. My healing time for my breast augmentation was 3 days and was back to work with in 3 days. His energy was comforting and awesome! Best Doctor ever! Highly recommend him! You won’t regret it.

This review is long over due. Dr. Toohey is hands down is the best plastic surgeon doctor I have been too. He is extremely knowledgeable at what he does. He has made feel super comfortable being in his chair and is full of jokes. I have had my nose, lips and even botox from him. He did exactly what I asked for. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Toohey and his exceptional team created the perfect experience from initial visit to post surgery visits. I had to have my implants replaced and Dr. Toohey was very thorough in explaining my options, the surgical process, and personal expectations with me. I was confident in my decisions and I am very pleased with my results. Everyone on the surgical team and especially the office team (Devon and Christine) are wonderful and make you feel welcomed. I highly recommend Dr. Toohey to my friends and family.
