Dr. Robert Perry prefers to be known as a clinician. Although he is frequently an invited lecturer on multiple topics and spends time training residents and medical students, he believes his best and most creative work is performed as a surgeon in the operating room.

Dr. Perry obtained his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Following two years in General Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, he joined the Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery program at SUNY at Buffalo under Dr. John Loré and became Board-Certified in that field. In 1980 he was accepted into the Plastic Surgery residency under Dr. D. Ralph Millard at the University of Miami. There he learned the principles of Plastic Surgery, Cleft Lip & Palate/Craniofacial Surgery, and Aesthetic Surgery.

In 1983, Dr. Perry returned to Buffalo to begin his practice, joining Dr. Jean Haar, Head & Neck surgeon, at Delaware Medical Group. During those years he became Board-Certified in Plastic Surgery and was accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After a brief period as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at SUNY at Buffalo, he returned to private practice in 1992 to join Dr. Joel Paull, noted Plastic Surgeon, colleague, and close friend. He subsequently organized Buffalo Niagara Plastic Surgery and later Spa Niagara with Linda Baldi-Perry. At John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, he was a founding member of the Laurence C. Wright Craniofacial Center in 1989 and was elected Director in 2014. He was hired as Pediatric Plastic Surgery on May 1, 2017. With support from SUNY Buffalo Department of Surgery, Dr. Perry will be a part of a future Plastic Surgery residency program currently in its planning stages.
