Dr. Edney is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from the Creighton University School of Medicine in 1976. He completed his 5-year residency in general surgery at Creighton University and subsequently received his board certification in general surgery. He also completed a one year fellowship in surgical oncology at Creighton University. Dr. Edney completed his plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh where he remained for an additional fellowship in micro vascular surgery. Dr. Edney returned to Omaha in 1983 and has been in private practice since then.
Dr. Edney is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and also at the Creighton University School of Medicine. He is a member of several medical societies including: American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery and the Metro Omaha Medical Society. Dr. Edney is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Edney has been recognized as a Best Doctor in Omaha, this recognition is awarded following an extensive physician survey to identify the doctors that other doctors trust most. It is the largest ongoing, peer-reviewed survey in the medical industry.
