Stofman actually performed a procedure on my Lymphangioma--face, left side of my cheek--in 1997, when I was 9 1/2. Left me with several disfiguring scars, including two behind the surgical incision, from him cutting my face open in his office, a few weeks after my surgery, to insert a drainage tube and pouch, due to my face swelling up with blood and fluid a week after the surgery and my left eye becoming almost completely bloodshot. He stuck needles in my neck to numb it, and as he was heading out to find a scalpel, due to his first framed scalpel on his wall not being sharp enough, the nurse from the front desk came in worried wondering why he was looking for a scalpel. We--my mom and I-- told her, she was visibly disturbed and said "He can't do that. He has to do that in the hospital," before rushing off to find him. She apparently did and we heard her telling him he couldn't do that in the hallway with the door shut. The reason THIS, was done, was the week prior--again about two weeks after my surgery--when my face started swelling up, he told me to come in to the hospital, and injected my incision several times with numbing medication, the cut it open again, stuck surgical tongs in my face and opened and closed them, in an attempt to drain my face that way. He also put his fingers inside my face and held the outside of my cheek with his other hand and pushed to try and push the fluid and blood out. That didn't work, I was obviously crying as I would be a week later when he cut my face open in his office. Also, when I initially woke up in Children's Hospital in recovery, I felt my face because it obviously felt weird and I was curious, and I didn't feel what I should be stitches. He hadn't sown up my face, as he said it would heal better open and wouldn't keloid since "black people tend to keloid due to the melanin." His exact words. He also told me at the consult the year before when I was 8, that if I didn't have surgery, Lymphangioma would grow and spread into my neck and block my airway and suffocate me in my sleep. While my mom was in the waiting room as I was having an MRI. He told me this with a nurse in there, before bringing my mom back in. So obviously I was scared and didn't want to die, so I agreed. He didn't want to perform surgery because I was so young, and said he would rather wait until I was at least 13, but 18 would be best as I would be finished growing, but that he was also worried about my Lymphangioma growing. A year later, he left Children's FACS, so I didn't even have him to go to for anymore follows or scar revisions like he said he could and would do.

I had Dr Stofman and his PA Sarah twice this week for an evaluation and a quick procedure. They were fantastic. Super kind and went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and had a positive experience. I would go to them again in the future for the removal of any lumps that I need take care of :) I was actually told that I was a top contender for patient of the year for 2025. I know it is early, but Dr Stofman and his staff felt like I was exceptional today laying on the hospital bed. Definitely patient of the day today. They did a great job and I highly recommend him. Everyone was super nice, friendly and I appreciated it! Thanks so much!

My wife had skin removal surgery and was supposed to get her belly button removed. He tells her "you get what you pay for!" And "we're going commando with this one!" prior to her surgery. She had fluid build-up in her stomach and was feeling unfit to go home. He rips open her incision and thrusts his fingers in her stomach. A nurse was appalled at what she saw and he tried to do it when no one was watching. She has had to seek advice from a different doctor. One of the stitches from the operation was left in her stomach protruding from the inside. I had to take a pair of tweezers and remove it myself. This is all true and straight to the point. If you could seek assistance from a different person, I would advise that you do so. This guy is no true professional. The more I ponder how he treated my wife, the more infuriated I get. Edit Update: She has 3 hernias in her stomach around where he performed his 'procedure'. If I can put him out of business and have his license revoked, I will; before he botches another person's procedure.

I would love to be able to give Dr. Stofman a 5 star review. He was recommended very highly by another physician so we went to see him. My husband needed a procedure and after our initial consultation, we were told the office would call to let us know if the procedure would be covered by our insurance. No one ever called. We waited an appropriate amount of time (3-4 weeks) then called the office. We were assured that the matter would be investigated and we would get a call back. That call never came. I waited another week and called again. I spoke to a new CSR who had just been hired. She was very pleasant, and again promised to have someone call me. It has been 2 more weeks and still no call. I am extremely disappointed and more than a little frustrated. Please tell me how exactly I should trust a doctor to hold a surgical blade to my husband when the office can't even return a phone call or give their patients the time of day. Dr. Stofman?? If anyone is going to call at this point, it should be YOU.

Absolutely recommend. Dr. Stofman is so confident and has a reason to be. He completed my septo/rhino after a failed initial septoplasty back in 2014. He so knowledgeable and has an incredible team! Alexis, Amy, Kim, and Jackie with scheduling. I’m only one week postop and beyond swollen and still couldn’t wait to post this review. I’m already looking and breathing better in just one week then I did so many years post my 2014 surgery. He made me aware of all risks and possible outcomes. Being how major my surgery was, he needed to take ear cartilage to fix my nose. I am so pleased with the outcome and gentle care I received by UPMC staff and Stofman’s team. I was made so comfortable and my nerves were lessened by these folks. I am telling you they listened!! They listened to all my needs. Dr. Stofman.. absolutely incredible work! I highly recommend this team.
