Let me begin by first saying that I VERY rarely write reviews. My exceptional experiences at Potomac Medical Aesthetics, however, are enough to make an exception. I have been to med spas and even a couple plastic surgeons’ offices in NY, Philly, Maryland, and the DC metro area. I’m a tough critic, so I don’t say this lightly—Potomac Medical Aesthetics is a cut above the rest. Dr. Petropoulos is simply awesome. He has a knack for presenting complex medical principles and jargon in an accessible way. You can tell he’s an experienced physician. He speaks from a place of authority with extensive knowledge of the procedures, and furthermore, the human body. Dr. P is also personable, funny, and makes you feel comfortable. It’s also obvious that he cares about the science involved. Mentions of reading about the latest research are a subtle reminder of his dedication. He’s honest, fair, and generous. He takes his time and is very thorough. He will also happily answer any questions. You can tell that he understands the importance of educating his patients. Rather than try to “sell” you on anything, Dr. P gives you an honest, comprehensive assessment during consultations. He’s upfront about the expectations you should have. Dr. P gave me recommendations based on what suited my body in particular. He always considered how I could get the most bang for my buck. He made a phenomenal recommendation (treating an area that would have a particular impact on my look). I went with his recommendation— WOW, was he right! It’s changed the look of my face. My mom has tagged along with me for my treatments. Dr. P was kind enough to buy both my mom and I lunch when I had a series of treatments that lasted through the afternoon. Long story short: you’re in good hands as his patient. I would be remiss not to mention an absolute game-changer of a product that Dr. P introduced me to. It’s called “TransFORM Body Treatment with TriHex Technology” by Alastin Skincare. It has definitely enhanced the results of my treatments—which I had amazing results from as is—to a startling degree. After ONE application, I started to see an improvement in my skin. I have tried countless beauty products from drug store brands to the luxury brands. In terms of efficacy this product almost seems too good to be true. It improves the appearance and firmness of the skin right before your eyes. It’s worth every penny. The team there is amazing. As a patient/consumer you feel as if the staff is an asset to you—and they are. They all genuinely care about your experience, your comfort, and your results. Patricia has mainly handled correspondence, scheduling, and payment. She is friendly, detailed-oriented, and organized. She also proactively considers things like scheduling and rewards programs from the patients’ perspectives. Sabine is also great. She gave me a hydra facial and assisted Dr. P during the majority of my treatments. She is knowledgeable, kind, and very attentive. She anticipates your needs and makes sure you’re comfortable. I met Dr. P’s wife (Melissa), who is a CRNP, when she assisted during my first round of treatments. She’s super nice. To give an example about the level of care they strive to offer...when I returned about a week later to finish my treatments Melissa had made a point to order a certain tea I had previously asked about. This is a perfect illustration of the level of attentiveness you can expect there. I had gotten the same non-invasive treatment done at very reputable plastic surgeon’s office several years ago. My experience at Potomac Medical Aesthetics has been superior in every way—from the consultation to the treatment itself to the results. I drive about an hour to get there (usually more with traffic), but it’s totally worth it. I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Petropoulos and his team. I would be 100% comfortable recommending this place to my friends and family. So glad to have found my go-to!

I met Dr. Petropoulos about two years ago. I was very pleased since the first time we met because he did a complete computerized exam of my face and took the time to go over everything and answered the many questions I had. Very impressive! Another great quality of his, is his honesty. He didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. My last procedure there was the vampire facial which I absolutely loved and gave me great results. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to improve my looks. They have every treatment one needs for body and face plus the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I feel comfortable at this practice and happy I found it, out of million of choices, I made the best!

Dr. Petropoulos is a very caring and knowledgable physician who takes the time to listen to your concerns and suggest the best procedure for you. He also treats you as he would his own family.

I have had very good results with laser hair removal. I’m waiting to see the results of the cool sculpting on my abdominals. I have to wait two more months before I can see the results. Very nice and caring group. It’s always nice to have an ex ER doctor performing the procedures.
