Dr. Adam T. Silverman was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY by his parents, an elementary school teacher and a nurse. He attended the Spackenkill School District where he graduated in the top five percent of his high school class and was a member of the Honor Society. He was also captain of both the high school soccer and basketball teams. His undergraduate studies included a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University at Albany. He achieved the Dean’s List of Distinguished Students and graduated cum laude. After graduating college, he worked at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in a research laboratory dedicated to cancer. A Master of Science in Cell Biology from New York Medical College was obtained concurrently. Dr. Silverman completed his schooling with a Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He achieved both the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List. He was also a member of the Honor Society and an Anatomy and Histology course tutor.

Dr. Silverman then completed a General Surgery Residency, including Chief Residency, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. Several teaching and leadership awards were obtained during this residency. He then went on to broaden his surgical training in a comprehensive three-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious University of Illinois at Chicago. He was trained by world-renowned craniofacial plastic surgeons, Dr. Mimis Cohen and Dr. Pravin Patel, as well as many other highly regarded cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons in the Chicagoland area. Again he was nominated to be Chief Resident. While living in Chicago, Dr. Silverman was also a Gross Anatomy instructor, moonlighted at Children’s Memorial Hospital and was a trauma surgeon.

After completing his training, Dr. Silverman decided to move back to his hometown and provide advanced surgical techniques in the discipline of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Observation of the medical dynamics led him to the conclusion that there was a need for a plastic surgeon to help treat patients in his community with a vast array of deformities, from birth defects to traumatic injuries to cancer-related defects.
