R. Jeffrey HofmannDr

Dr. R. Jeffrey Hofmann, a board certified ophthalmologist, specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery including laser and cosmetic surgery. He has been a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1987 (see www.ASOPRS.org). Dr. Hofmann is a full-time staff member at Rhode Island Hospital, Miriam Hospital, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital, as well as Director of the Oculoplastic Surgery Clinic at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Providence. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown’s Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University and teaches medical students and residents.

Dr. Hofmann graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University, and went on to receive his medical degree with distinction – Alpha Omega Alpha – from Tulane University School of Medicine. He interned at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO, and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Medical School which culminated in certification and fellowship in ASOPRS. Dr. Hofmann has authored and co-authored a number of original medical publications but is most proud of his many teaching awards from students and residents.
