Aisha White, M.D., FACS, has seen firsthand how plastic and reconstructive surgery can transform people’s bodies as well as their self-esteem and outlook on life. Her passion for women’s health and empowering women and young girls in and out of the office is just one of the many reasons Dr. White is a top female board-certified plastic surgeon in Austin, Texas.

Dr. White graduated with honors from Howard University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. She then spent a year abroad in Limoges, France, engaged in neurology research. As a research assistant at Centre Hôpital Universitaire Dupuytren, Dr. White participated in various clinical activities and studied how autoantibodies play a role in different nerve disorders.

She then moved to Chicago to continue her studies at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. While in medical school, Dr. White also earned her MBA in Health Care Management from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

This program involved further international experience for Dr. White. She completed a summer internship in Cairo, Egypt, performing cost and feasibility analyses for the John Snow, Inc. (JSI) Healthy Mother/Healthy Child program.

Upon earning her medical degree, Dr. White undertook a 5-year general surgery residency at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. She rounded out her training with a plastic surgery residency at the University of Illinois Chicago. During that time, she was named an Academic Career Development program fellow by the National Medical Association (NMA) and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
