Dr. Ankur Mehta is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon known for his dedication to patient care, safety, and superior, natural-looking results. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Mehta brings the highest caliber of care to our Synergy patients. He is proud to have completed his education and medical training in his native Texas and is honored to meet the surgical needs of those who travel far and wide to see him.

Trained & Educated in Top Texas Institutions

Dr. Mehta began his journey to becoming a plastic surgeon by earning a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA before attending medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was inducted into the prestigious and highly selective Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Mehta earned numerous academic honors throughout his educational career, from annual placement on the dean’s list to the Distinguished Scholar Award. He was also awarded the Edward Randall Medal for Academic Excellence to celebrate his exceptional achievements in medical school.

Dr. Mehta continued his plastic surgery training with a rigorous 6-year integrated plastic and reconstructive surgical residency at his alma mater. The University of Texas Medical Branch recognized Dr. Mehta’s dedication and talents with a Surgical Intern of the Year award at the end of his first year.

Following his residency, Dr. Mehta pursued fellowship training at Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. He spent a year honing his skills and expertise in pediatric burn reconstruction before going into private practice.
