Liza S. KimDr

As one of the few female board certified plastic surgeons in the greater Sacramento area, Dr. Liza S. Kim brings her extensive training and experience, along with a woman’s perspective to cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Kim strives to bring a comprehensive, fulfilling and pleasant experience to each patient towards achieving their “complete-self” again.

Dr. Kim completed her undergraduate degree from University of California, Los Angeles and obtained her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Kim completed a highly coveted integrated residency training program in plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery at  the Ohio State University.

Following residency, she honed her operative skills at Harvard, as an advanced aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery fellow at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital. At Harvard, she participated in various academic activities, including publishing on the latest advancements in the field of plastic surgery. Her chapter in “Breast Cancer: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Diagnosis and Management” entitled “Approach in Breast Reconstruction: Surgical Considerations in Breast Reconstruction” was well-received by her colleagues. At Harvard, she was also involved in medical student and resident education, providing Harvard medical students with increased exposure to plastic surgery by supervising Harvard residents in clinic. She also gave popular lectures on various topics, including nonsurgical cosmetic treatments like Botox and injectable fillers such as Juvederm.

Dr. Kim loves practicing in Sacramento where she is able to work with patients from various backgrounds. Growing up with a parent serving in the armed forces, Dr. Kim has lived across the US and internationally. She enjoys working with people of all cultures. Her high level of cultural competence allows her to easily understand unique and sensitive situations and delicate patient requests.  Finally, having spent part of her youth in Seoul, Korea she is bilingual, fluent in Korean and well versed in the latest Korean beauty trends.
