Education and Training

Originally from Long Island, NY, Dr. Oberg's journey includes service in the United States Marine Corps before pursuing a medical education. He earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona and his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Dr. Oberg completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, where he received an award for distinguished research. His dedication led him to fellowship training in oculofacial plastic surgery at the Center for Facial Appearances in Salt Lake City, UT. Since then, he has specialized in eyelid and facial plastic surgery.

I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my eyelid surgery—both aesthetically and functionally! Dr. Oberg performed upper and lower blepharoplasty, removing the excess skin from my upper eyelids that once hung over my eyes like an awning. He also smoothed out the puffiness under my lower lids, eliminating the unwanted bags. Not only do my eyes look refreshed and youthful, but my vision has significantly improved—I never realized how much light was being blocked before! Dr. Oberg is an exceptional surgeon, combining remarkable skill with genuine empathy and kindness. His dedication to patient care is evident in every step of the process. His entire team at Still Canyon shares the same commitment, providing outstanding support and guidance throughout my treatment. I've worked in the medical profession for 40 years. I knew before I had any procedure done, I needed to do my homework( research all options) at every turn Dr. Oberg had the best reputation for best results as well as being a very kind person. Dr. Oberg, and staff are wonderful to work with. They really listen, and care about their patients well being. I've had several people ask me who did my eyelid surgery, because it's made such a noticeable difference in my appearance, but most importantly my vision. I would recommend Dr. Oberg to closest friends and family members ❤️

This was my second eyelid surgery….the first time I was very unhappy and couldn’t tell any difference. The before and after photos looked the same. That doctor didn’t stand by his work. I was then referred to Dr Oberg and boy what a difference! He is so awesome and has the best office staff. I’m very pleased with the results and highly recommend Dr Oberg.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Oberg, and it was a solid 5-star experience. I suffer from severe, life-altering dry eyes due to cataract surgery and have seen several doctors seeking relief. Dr. Oberg genuinely cares and was fully attentive. He spent the time I needed and answered my questions without making me feel rushed, something no other doctor has done. He was knowledgeable and empathetic, presenting several treatment options that no other doctor had mentioned. Dr Oberg is exceptional and I feel blessed to have found him. His staff was a solid 5 star as well. Thank you Dr Oberg.

Thomas Oberg and staff are amazing. I trusted them with the care of my daughter. She's my only daughter and that as you might think makes me nervous and fearful. Dr Oberg explained everything. Kept a channel of communication with me. His staffed answere my calls and text at all hours. And this is just him in the office. As a surgeon, damn, does he go above and beyond. He never talked down to my daughter. She's 8 and even when she was 6 and has surgery with him (knowing she has speech issues and understanding issues) some how knew exactly how to talk to her with out us saying anything. My little one brought her favorite stuffy and he named him PThom (he's a dinosaur and names him like pterodactyl with a silent P) he has all these inside jokes with her that made her not scared. Little one doesn't even call him her doctor but my friend Thom. When they both went into surgery (daughter and the stuffy) Dr. Oberg made sure they were maching with their eye patches and hair nets. I can't describe to you the feeling I had at both surgeries seeing my daughter and PThom come out. It soothed my fears knowing he took that much care with a freaking stuffed animal so my daughter woukd continue to be at ease. If you don't use this man in your surgical needs and that of your families I question your intelligence. You will not find a better surgeon or better staff. He only hires elite to match how amazing he is.
