Dr. Kind was Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and received Subspecialty Certification in Surgery of the Hand from the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Kind has published scientific articles on a wide variety of Plastic Surgery topics. Dr. Kind has had a long interest in microsurgical breast reconstruction. He was among the first surgeons to perform the DIEP flap for breast reconstruction on the West Coast. Dr. Kind has been featured in several articles in the lay press, has been interviewed for local radio and national television shows, and has appeared in two documentaries. Dr. Kind is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the University of California-San Francisco. Dr. Kind received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California-San Francisco for his contributions to the Residents’ Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. He currently serves as a Director and is the Chair-Elect of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Kind is a member of several local and national medical organizations and has presented at many national and international surgery meetings, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, the Society of University Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and many others. He was named a Top Doctor by San Francisco and Marin Magazines many times, and has been named Best Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco by J Magazine for eleven consecutive years (2012-2023).
