Dr. Lance DeRoss is a plastic surgeon practicing in Santa Barbara, renowned for his dedication to excellence and patient care. As a native from a rural area of Northern California, Dr. DeRoss embarked on his academic journey by earning his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from California State University-Chico. Before pursuing medicine, he selflessly contributed to various medical fields, including radiology, physical therapy, and the operating room, which fueled his passion for the medical profession, particularly in surgery.

After completing medical school in St. Maarten at the American University of the Caribbean, Dr. DeRoss pursued a comprehensive residency in general surgery at the esteemed University of Connecticut. It was during this pivotal period that he found mentorship and inspiration from distinguished plastic surgeons, steering his trajectory towards the captivating field of plastic surgery. 

Subsequently, Dr. DeRoss further honed his skills and expertise by completing a rigorous plastic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he had the privilege of training under nationally acclaimed reconstructive and craniofacial surgeons.

During his time in Chicago, Dr. DeRoss developed a profound interest in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He recognized the importance of acquiring specialized training to excel in this field. He seized the opportunity to undergo an intensive fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Warner, a renowned authority in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, situated in the Northern suburbs of Chicago. Under Dr. Warner’s guidance, Dr. DeRoss immersed himself in the intricacies of various facial procedures, including face and neck lifts, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, brow lifts, and many more.
