Dr. Melissa Johnson is the owner and founder of Pioneer Valley Plastic Surgery, LLC and a past President of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. She has been practicing Plastic Surgery in the Springfield, Massachusetts area since 2000. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, and is a proud member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Johnson is such a strong believer in the American Board of Plastic Surgery credentialing process, that she serves as one of its Oral Board Examiners. She is the only Plastic Surgeon in Massachusetts, West of Worcester that has the prestigious honor of being an Oral Board Examiner. Additionally, she is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, which recognizes surgeons who specialize in cosmetic plastic surgery. Dr. Johnson specializes in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery and her private practice is located in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Dr. Johnson has presented and published many papers covering surgery and plastic surgery topics at regional, national and international meetings. She continues to be an active researcher for breast cancer, specifically in the areas of early detection and treatments.

Dr. Johnson is also a wife and the mother of two children. Additionally she enjoys running, hiking, cooking and the arts. As a female plastic surgeon, she often consults with female patients to help them lead healthier, happier lives and is active in causes that are important to women's health, such as the Rays of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
