I did four subcision treatments with Dr. Robertson in 2023 for acne scars.  Dr. Robertson is certainly knowledgeable and has a keen eye for cosmetology, but he presented disinterest and tends to rush with me. He prescribed a $150 retinol product by Zo right in the middle of the subcision treatments which gave me three major cysts. I never breakout anymore but this product he prescribed definitely made me breakout and one of the cysts left a very noticeable boxcar scar—the first acne scar I've received in nearly 20 years. I called to report that this product Dr. Robertson prescribed was making me breakout and asked his assistant if there was anything Dr. Robertson could prescribe to mitigate the damage and or what I should do to stop further breakouts and he never even called me back. He made things awkward for me a couple times when I mentioned how microneedling at a different business did not work out for me. Dr. Robertson got a little combative with me and said in a tone of indignation, "They know what they're doing there."  I certainly wasn't trying to denigrate that business's work by any means and I wasn't even complaining, but he had asked what treatments I had done in the past and if they had worked. Later on, when he said that shaving would help expoliate my face, I commented how I didn't use a razor anymore because I get more razor burns since microneedling at the other business.  He then made a snide remark about being friends with the owner and dismissing the subject entirely when, again, I was just clarifying for him why I use an electric razer now. Overall, subcision does not appear to be his speciality and he is definitely not a scar expert. Despite his friendly staff, he did not seem very attentive to me as a doctor given how he would forget what I told him on previous visits, in addition to not returning my phone call and not appearing interested in what I had to say.  But my new boxcar scar is the clincher.

Dr. Robertson and his staff are absolutely fantastic! I had seen three surgeons prior to him for a consultation about the procedure I wanted completed. I had not felt comfortable with the prior physicians, because my issue was a little more complex, which is why I went to Dr.Robertson. I knew Dr. Robertson was the surgeon I wanted to do my procedure after my initial consultation. He did a thorough job explaining the procedure. He showed me multiple pre and post pictures of the procedure I was considering that he had done for others. He discussed different options with the procedure I could choose to do. He has a pleasant, easy-going demeanor and is easy to talk to. At no time did I feel pressured to make a decision about how I wanted to proceed. His nurse Meg was in contact with me several times before the procedure to make sure I understood all the pre-op directions. The surgical day went smoothly. The team was efficient, on time, and I was on my way home as soon as I felt ready. The post-surgical follow up was outstanding. There was a great deal of communication from the office checking on how I was doing and if I had concerns. All concerns were addressed promptly. Follow up continued for the year after my procedure. I felt Dr. Robertson was genuinely interested in how I felt about the healing process and my results. I am extremely pleased with my results and happy that I chose Dr.Robertson. He has helped me regain my self confidence in my appearance. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
