After completing this intense and highly competitive residency, Dr. Foster was appointed to Geisinger’s academic staff in the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. During the following years, he achieved board certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Foster’s postgraduate training concentrated in head and neck surgery as well as a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. His fellowship was under the auspices of his preceptor, the internationally renowned E. Gaylon McCollough, MD FACS, at the McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. Accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, this highly competitive and esteemed fellowship provided a uniquely intensive surgical experience in facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Foster’s fellowship thesis evaluated the use of the Ultrapulse laser for skin resurfacing verses dermabrasion and chemical peeling.

After receiving the President’s Award by the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, he successfully completed the certification examination for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
