Profile

Dr. Fryer is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  This is the only board certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties for cosmetic and plastic surgery. He graduated from the University of Utah with high honors and then completed his medical school training at the same institution. He is a fully trained general surgeon through the University of Arizona. He returned to the University of Utah for a plastic surgery residency and was trained in all aspects of cosmetic and plastic surgery. He was recruited to remain at the University of Utah as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery to help train and instruct cosmetic and plastic surgery residents.

During his tenure at the University of Utah he cared for some of the most difficult and challenging plastic surgery cases in the intermountain west. Plastic surgeons from the surrounding area frequently transferred patients to Dr. Fryer for his expert surgical skills and clinical care. He was recognized each year by the hospital administration as one of the University’s best physicians based on patient satisfaction surveys. In 2008 he transitioned to a private plastic surgery clinic and still maintains an association with the University of Utah as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Fryer lives with his family in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, near the mountains and resorts of Alta and Brighton that he knows and loves. He loves spending time outdoors. Whether it be in the mountains of the Salt Lake Valley or Park City, the west desert between Toole and Wendover, the cliffs and crags near Salt Lake City and Sandy, or the wild and beautiful canyons of the national parks near St. George, Moab, Blanding, or Cedar City, Dr. Fryer enjoys exploring the hidden treasures that Utah’s best destinations have to offer. Backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, canyoneering, fly fishing, skiing, and exploring are just a few of the outdoor activities that he enjoys.

I had multiple consultations suggesting i get a lift, liposuction, and an internal bra. When doing a, FREE, consult with Dr. Fryer he told me i didn't need any of the suggested procedures the others had said. He explained everything so clear and really took the time to answer all my questions. His quoted price was half the cost of others. Even if the cost would have been the same I walked out of his office feeling confident he would do my procedure. I am so happy with the end result and my recovery has been amazing. The staff is so nice and answers any questions. I will tell EVERYONE about how amazing my experience was!!!

I came to Dr Fryer for my breast augmentation. I felt so comfortable with him and his staff! They recognized that this was a big decision and answered all of my questions and supported me while trying to figure out sizing. I initially thought of getting a size that a family member got, but thanks to Dr Fryers’s unique sizing method he explained why that size would not give me the projection I was seeking and would actually put me at a higher chance of bottoming out. I also had photos of what I wanted to look like, but his staff was great with explaining these could be heavily photo shopped, push up bras, etc and helped me find websites that would give me a more accurate before/after idea that matched my body type. They were extremely knowledgeable and earned my trust. Dr Fryer did an amazing job on the procedure and has enough knowledge to educate you and help you feel confident on your choice. I got good vibes from him, and didn’t feel he had an arrogance that other surgeons had, and his keeping up on research really calmed my mind. Post surgery recovery has been amazing, his staff has been available if I have any questions or concerns, and oh my goodness, they look amazing! He provided me with lots of resources as I’ve been healing so that I can be aware of what to expect and what weeks I can start doing more, along with stretches to help with pain. I truly feel these have been key in my recovery. Another big deciding factor for me was that Dr Fryer has a planner for those exploring breast augmentation with research on common questions and myths, how to choose your surgeon (including links to find if they are board certified or have lawsuits open), and what to expect along your journey. I highly recommend Dr Fryer and his staff!

I can’t thank Dr. Fryer enough! I had my first breast augmentation when I was 19 and honestly never loved the results—they always felt too big for my body. After having three children and years of not feeling fully confident, I finally met with Dr. Fryer. He took the time to truly listen to my concerns and came up with a thoughtful plan. He suggested draining the saline from my implants so I could see how much natural breast tissue I had to work with. I’m so grateful he did that—turns out, I had more than I thought! Thanks to his expertise and honest guidance, I made the decision to go without implants, and I could not be happier with the results. The shape, the size, everything feels so right for my body now. Honestly, they look even better than I ever imagined—and this time, they’re all me! Dr. Fryer’s technique, patience, and professionalism are unmatched. I truly feel like he helped me find the confidence I’ve been searching for all these years. If you’re considering breast surgery, especially an explant or a more natural look, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fryer. He’s the absolute best.

Dr. Fryer stitched up my son's facial injury, which was in a very noticeable location, and we were worried it would scar and impact his appearance. Fortunately, Dr. Fryer was able to stitch up the wound in a way that looks fantastic and isn't noticeable at all. He had an excellent bedside manner with my son, who was scared about getting stitches, and Dr. Fryer handled the situation perfectly. He was very responsive, easy to work with, and had a very pleasant demeanor. I would highly recommend Dr. Fryer to anyone looking for the best.

Dr. Fryer is excellent. He spent so much time with my t my initial consultation, going over every aspect of the surgery I was requesting. He gave great detail into how we would proceed and what I could expect. This attention continued on through my entire recovery process. I have never been so happy with my body. Dr. Fryer and his entire staff were warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable and respected. I don't think it could have been a better experience.

I've since gone to another surgeon who explained that Fryer had made the pocket too large which caused the implant to slide out. I've had my implants...
