Dr. Ramineni is the founder of District Plastic Surgery. He is board certified and has over 15 years of experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He started his career as one of the busiest surgeons at Medstar Washington Hospital Center with a focus on complex reconstructive surgery including cancer and trauma reconstruction, microsurgery and aesthetic surgery. As the Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery, he taught over 100 residents, had multiple publications and performed nearly 1000 surgical procedures a year. He transitioned to private practice nearly 5 years ago to provide a more personalized experience, a better patient experience and a more focused surgical practice. He has been voted a Washingtonian Top Doctor multiple times, has been a Castle Connolly top doctor for multiple years and has won both general and plastic surgery teaching awards.

Education and Training

Dr. Ramineni grew up in upstate New York where he developed a love of medicine from his father. He was then accepted out of high school to a very competitive 6 year combined undergraduate/medical school program where he completed his 4 year undergraduate education in only 2 years. During medical school, he was in the top 1% in the country in his medical licensing exams and was inducted into the AOA medical school honor society. After graduating in the top 5% of his medical school, he was accepted into one of the top integrated general surgery/plastic surgery training programs at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his training with multiple awards for distinction and highest exam scores. He moved to Washington, DC in 2007 to begin his career in plastic surgery.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Ramineni performs the entire gamut of plastic surgery. He has a special interest in aesthetic surgery of the breast, body and face, gender affirmation surgery, post bariatric surgery and weight loss body contouring and reconstructive surgery. Aesthetic surgical procedures performed include mommy makeovers, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentation with both implants and fat, mastopexy (breast lift), breast reduction, nipple/areolar reduction, liposuction, buttock augmentation with autologous fat (brazillian buttock lift), brachioplasty, thighplasty, back lift, face and neck lift surgery, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), and rhinoplasty. Gender affirmation procedures performed include vaginoplasty, mastectomy, breast augmentation, facial feminization surgery, and body masculinization and feminization surgery. He also performs reconstructive surgery including breast cancer reconstruction, skin cancer removal and reconstruction, and hernia repair.
