Dr. Barnard was born in Dallas, Oregon and grew up in Reno, Nevada. He received his undergraduate degree and medical doctorate from the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed his general surgery training at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and is board certified in general surgery. His Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training was also completed at the University of California Davis Medical Center. Dr. Barnard is board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been in the Cedar Valley since 1998.
